Utilizzo del suscettometro ed elaborazione dei dati

The aim of the document is to introduce and discuss the use of the equipment and the data processing, together with the physical principles and the main equations, reported in the literature.In a susceptometer, the sample is placed near to the magnet that is fixed on the scale. Depending on the magnetic properties of the sample, an attractive or repulsive force will appear between the magnet and the sample. By measuring this force, registered by the scale as a mass, the magnetic parameters such as: initial permeability and susceptibility, and the remnant magnetization of the sample can be determined. Despite its simplicity, the method is quantitative, and can give an array of information about the magnetic behaviour of the analysed material. A standard laboratory's methodology is presented and an experimental example is shown in order to give a useful demo.

Lo scopo di questo documento è di dare indicazioni sull'utilizzo dello strumento e sull' elaborazione dei dati, passando in rassegna i principi fisici e le principali equazioni presenti in letteratura.In un suscettometro, il campione è collocato vicino al magnete solidale con la bilancia. In funzione delle proprietà magnetiche del campione, apparirà una forza attrattiva o repulsiva tra il magnete e il campione. Misurando questa forza, registrata dalla bilancia come una massa, i parametri magnetici quali: permeabilità e suscettibilità iniziale e la magnetizzazione rimanente del campione possono essere determinati. Nonostante possa apparire semplice, il metodo è quantitativo e fornisce una serie d'informazioni sul comportamento magnetico del materiale analizzato. Una procedura standard di laboratorio è presentata e un esempio sperimentale è mostrato in modo da dare un utile dimostrativo.
