This document reports on the preparation of next joint experiments at NIFS. NIFS test stand is among the best diagnosed ion sources for hydrogen negative ion beams in the world, and routinely operates lowdivergence beamlets at SPIDER-relevant ion energy range. It is proposed to investigate the extraction region in the ion source, in particular to measure the negative ion distribution function in the extraction region and to correlate it with the beam properties in different configurations. In addition to that, the use of a movable probe for positive ion measurement along the magnetic field lines is also proposed.
