The present document presents the main mechanical requirements of the WFI imaging and WFI fast detector filter of ATHENA mission. The filters consist of an aluminum coated thin polyimide film supported by a gold plated SS mesh and an aluminum cross stiffening structure (Only Imaging detector). During the launch, filters are subject to many loads, the most dangerous for their survival are: o The mechanical accelerations at the interface with the filter wheel; o The acoustic pressure; o The differential pressure due to the cargo venting.
