The Institute for International Legal Studies (ISGI) of the CNR and the Institute for Legal Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) have been developing the Joint Project on: "Human Rights of Asylum Seekers in Italy and Hungary. Influence of International and EU Law on Domestic Actions", in the framework of the bilateral Agreement on Scientific Cooperation and Its Executive Protocol between CNR and the HAS. A first comparative assessment of the current issues of Italian and Hungarian sector legislation has been carried out as part of a broader assessment of, in particular, the effectiveness of the EU regulations. Two main sets of issues have been considered: the obligations of the states, in particular of the border states, and the implications on human rights.
