STRIKE (Short - Time Retractable Instrumented Kalorimeter Experiment) is a diagnostic which will be used to characteriz e the SPIDER beam, by measuring beam uniformity, beam divergence and stripping losses . The diagnostic part of STRIKE is given by 16 carbon - fibre - carbon composite (CFC) tiles (376 x 142 x 20 mm 3 each) that are observed from behind by infra - red cameras to determine the beam shape by thermography. Each of the STRIKE tiles corresponds to one of the beamlet groups composing the SPIDER beam and they are arranged in a 4x4 matrix. The CFC tiles a re hosted i n two panels. To remove STRIKE from the beam path, the panels may be moved along two trolleys towards the vessel walls. In addi tion, sliding the trolleys along the STRIKE basement, the panels may be moved closer or further from the SPIDER beam source. STRIKE basement is installed directly on the SPIDER vacuum vessel. Besides the thermo graphic measurements , STRIKE provides additional thermal and electrical measurements. A brief insight in the STRIKE system may be found in [1] . During 2017 STRIKE mechanical structure (basement, trolleys and pan els) has been purchased and install ed in the SPIDER vacuum vessel . Mean while m ost of STRIKE components have been procured and tested. Such activities are more broadly reported within the procurement contract OFC - 531.
