Within the framework of MEDISEH an expert team was composed within the MAREA Consortium from fisheries biologists with GIS experts with long term expertise on GIS tools and databases, working at different areas in the Mediterranean basin. A specific task of the project was to homogenize the variety of data products produced by MEDISEH project under a common GIS environment and disseminate the GIS data products through the Internet. Specifically, an online viewer of GIS datasets, an online GIS database, and an online dissemination platform of the technical background were developed through MEDISEH activities.
