Socialize Forum is a web service that enables elderly to actively participate and to question for issues of public interest related seniors. To this end, the web interface and the application functioning is appositely designed to be used by elderly and in particular for those are hostile to the use of technology. The implementation phase involved the creation of a web portal that allows older people to actively participate in the issues concerning their daily lives, through interfaces and standard tools, so as to allow access to as many people as possible. In order to achieve this, particular attention was paid to the ease of access to the system. After evaluating the requirements and objectives to be achieved, a set of open-source applications were considered to be used for the implementation phase.
