Report of input activities in respect of different networks

BYTE has culminated in the launch of the BYTE Big Data Community (BBDC), a sustainable, cross-disciplinary platform that will implement the research and policy roadmap identified within the project, and will assist the European stakeholders in identifying and meeting the big data challenges, to finally achieve the scenario envisioned by BYTE for 2020. The realisation of a European roadmap and vision for big data implies the shared use, reuse and linking of large datasets, which depends largely upon developments in other, related networks. Hence, it is essential to establish links with those related networks and facilitate the alignment of the many stakeholders in the big data debate. This document reports on the activities performed by BYTE partners and the BBDC to input BYTE findings into the big data and data analytics community, the open access to data movement, the science and technology policy framework, the privacy and data protection policy framework, networks associated with BYTE case study sectors, and other big data- related networks.
