Atmospheric Scenarios are needed in the forward calculation to define the state of the atmosphere and thus to simulate the Sentinels' measurements in the UV, VIS and TIR spectral ranges. These Atmospheric Scenarios will be generated from the MERRA2 reanalysis [D1]. The present document provides an overview of the content of the fields used, their meaning and how they should be used within the AURORA project. The content is largely based on the original MERRA2 file specification [D2]. Additionally, details of the McPeters and Labow (ML) ozone climatology used as a priori in the retrieval scheme are also reported in section 6. The set of variables that define the atmospheric scenarios necessary for the simulation of S-4 and S-5 measurements were agreed with the consortium in advance, and are considered sufficient for the simulation at the time of writing. However, at the request of the consortium, additional variables will be added to the current database if necessary for the simulation of S-4 and S-5 measurements. It is noted that the actual deliverable consists of the atmospheric scenarios and ozone climatology datasets. These could not be uploaded as the file size exceeds the maximum permitted volume of 50MB. Therefore, the present document was prepared to describe the file content and provide a link to the data.

Abstract
Therefore, the present document was prepared to describe the file content and provide a link to the data.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
