Aim of this workshop is to introduce students to the principles of Science Communication - what effective science communication is, why it is important, and how to do it. Science Communication will be presented as a theory developed within the framework of social and humanities studies that explores the nature and changes in science and society and the relationship between them. It will also be presented as a practice, building scientists' communication skills and confidence in engaging with public audiences using different communication methods, tools and mechanisms. The workshop will involve a mix of lecture, case-studies, self-reflection, small group work on the topics introduced.
