Towing experiments have been carried out at CNR-INM of a Planing Boat model equipped with a modified version of the lowercase. The lowercase trim angle was set at zero degrees. An increase of the model resistance of about 2% was evaluated for the highest speeds, from 7 m/s on. The simultaneous local lowercase drag measurement gives an increase of 26% on average. A slight reduction of the trim attitude of the boat was measured too (about 0.2 deg).
