In case of major maintenance of SPIDER Beam Source the removal of the Beam Source from the Vacuum Vessel has to be carried out after disconnection of all the relevant hydraulic circuits. During these removal operations all the Beam Source hydraulic circuits shall be drained and dried in order to remove all the water, or at least as much as possible. This shall be done aiming to prevent water leakages, to limit as much as possible oxidations inside the circuits and components and finally to allow the execution of vacuum leak tests of the circuits before re-installation of the Beam Source inside the Vacuum Vessel. Draining of hydraulic circuits is first foreseen by gravity after opening of the end connections of hydraulic circuits and then by blowing-out with pressurized Nitrogen. The following step is drying, to be performed by flowing hot Nitrogen gas inside the hydraulic circuits. Abstract
This document reports about studies and analyses that were carried out as a background for the design and procurement of suitable systems for effective draining and drying of SPIDER Beam Source hydraulic circuits.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
