The report deals with work activity on board R/V Dallaporta during the acoustic and ichthyoplankton surveys carried out from the 21st - 31st of May 2016, in Montenegro and Albania waters, in the eastern side of the Adriatic Sea that is part of GSA 18. The survey was planned by ISMAR-CNR of Ancona (Italy) in the framework of AdriaMed Project. Other collaborating research institutes that were involved in the survey are: Institute of Marine Biology of Kotor (Montenegro) and the Laboratory of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Agricultural University of Tirana (Albania). The survey grid consists of 14 transects spaced of 8-10 nmi going approximately from 1-1.5 nmi from the coastline (where possible) to the 200 m isobath. The depth level near the coast results variable with higher depths along Montenegrin coasts and shallower depths in Albania. Apart from acoustic data collection, periodical net sampling on small pelagic fish was done by means of mid-water trawl with sensors to control net geometry and position in the water column. CTD stations at predefined positions along the planned transects were also carried out in order to have profiles of temperature, salinity, fluorescence, turbidity and dissolved oxygen. Also DEPM - Daily Eggs Production Method - stations were carried out along the route to collect eggs and larvae samples. The research survey was an opportunity to train Montenegrin and Albanian scientists on acoustic survey related methodologies and working activities concerning data collection.
