This document follows the technical note Multi-Platform validations of altimetry for monitoring the variability of Coastal fronts (IDEAS+-SER-EVO-REP-3143). This technical note update describes the application of the algorithm for the detection of intrusion events of the Northern Mediterranean Current into the Gulf of Lion using real satellite altimetry data. The algorithm has been developed by the use of high-resolution model simulations and has been validated with in-situ observations from JULIO Current Meter. Abstract

Many adjustments and tuning of the algorithm have been found necessary in order to adapt real data and simulations.
