The work is based on a biological test carried out to establish if the resins of guayule 89/47 and 89/472a were resistant against the dry wood termites K. flavicollis. The termite species Kalotermesflavicollis, is called dry wood termites due to the fact that their nest is directly in the wood, it is present in Italy and in South Europe. No European standard exists for this species so the two resins, 89/47 and 89/47 2a were tested against K. flavicollisin accordance to CEN EN 117 Determination of toxic value against Reticulitermes species (European termites)- Laboratory methods.

Abstract
