The invention relates to extracellular vesicles derived from native, photosynthetic, non-fermenting microalgae, to a method of isolating extracellular vesicles from native, photosynthetic, non-fermenting microalgae by growth, centrifugation and ultracentrifugation steps and to the use of the isolated extracellular vesicles as carriers for diagnostic, therapeutic, nutraceutic and/ or cosmetic agents.
