This report presents the status of the activities pursued within Work Package "WP2 - CFD Computations in Manoeuvring", task "WE22: CFD simulations of the turning-circle manoeuvre", whose final goal is the analysis of the flow field around the Horizon frigate in steady turning manoeuvre. As agreed within the consortium, the analysis was performed for the steady phase of the manoeuvre and the study will include free surface effects. Two different conditions were studied, corresponding to the full scale trials 15 degrees rudder starboard and 25 degrees rudder starboard manoeuvres (approaching speed 18knots).

Abstract
This report presents the status of the activities pursued within Work Package "WP2 - CFD Computations in Manoeuvring", task "WE22: CFD simulations of the turning-circle manoeuvre", whose final goal is the analysis of the flow field around the Horizon frigate in steady turning manoeuvre. As agreed within the consortium, the analysis was performed for the steady phase of the manoeuvre and the study will include free surface effects. Two different conditions were studied, corresponding to the full scale trials 15 degrees rudder starboard and 25 degrees rudder starboard manoeuvres (approaching speed 18knots).File in questo prodotto:
