This is a short summary of the activities carried out in the past on the subject of protecting the SPIDER Beam Sourcegrids, electrical bushings and related conductors (signals and connectors) from the overvoltage due to breakdown events between the grids. In addition, a description of the modifications currently being implemented at the level of the SPIDER electrical bushing with the purpose of protecting the signal bushings from the overvoltageis given, with additional simulations showing the effectiveness of the solution. Such modifications were required to operate reliably with the AGPS connected to the source and avoid damages to the insulation due to the breakdowns.
