Resistance against basidiomycetes fungi c. puteana and t. versicolor of resins 89/47/2b and reference product renner through an accelerate test agreement

The accelerate test was chosen for obtaining a fast information (only 8 weeks with respect to 16weeks in the standard European test) on the resistance of wood specimens treated with a differentguayule resins, and 89/47/2b diluted in ethanol and applied by immersion. It means that the miniblocks, treated with a surface method and without sealing of the end grains were put in contactwith a pure mycelium of two different specified fungi species and strains, a brown rot Coniophoraputeana and a white rot T. versicolor. These fungal strains were certified for determining theeffectiveness of wood preservatives and for testing the natural durability of wood in Europeaccording to CEN CT 38 (Durability of wood and wood based products) standards. Further asreference product was utilized the registered antifungal Renner product applied by immersion.All the fungal laboratory tests give information on the use of wood in contact with ground and sothe results necessity of being interpreted only from persons skilled on the topic otherwise themeaning could be misunderstood.
