Ludus Magnus. Il corridoio nord adiacente la Via Labicana

The present study, therefore, has highlighted some problems relating to the North Wall of the Ludus Magnus in relation to the Via Labicana, proposing new solutions, compared to what had been reported and hypothesized in the volume on the Ludus Magnus by Colini and Cozza. The analysis of the relationship between the North Wall and the Ludus, has led, therefore, to believe that this structure was built before the construction of the monument and with a function not directly linked to the Ludus but rather to the Via Labicana of which it was probably the substructure. This is contrary to what was stated by Colini and Cozza, who saw the wall (which continued under the former Casino Guidi, the Verde Speranza building and beyond) as built together with the monument.

Il presente lavoro, quindi, ha messo in evidenza alcuni problemi relativi al Muro Nord del Ludus Magnus in relazione alla Via Labicana, proponendo nuove soluzioni, rispetto a quanto era stato riportato e ipotizzato nel volume sul Ludus Magnus di Colini e Cozza. L'analisi della relazione fra il Muro Nord e ed il Ludus, ha portato, dunque, a ritenere che questa struttura fosse stata realizzata prima della costruzione del monumento e con una funzione non legata direttamente al Ludus ma piuttosto alla Via Labicana di cui probabilmente era la sostruzione. Questo contrariamente con quanto affermato da Colini e Cozza, che vedevano il muro (che continuava anche sotto l'ex Casino Guidi, la palazzina Verde Speranza e oltre) come edificato assieme al monumento.
