The LDV measurement campaign was performed on a half-hull scale model of the Alliance ship at the INSEAN Circulating Channel. The test programme consisted of determining the hydrodynamic characteristics of the model around the propeller and the rudder using the LDV technique. In particular two kind of propeller were tested for one freestream velocity condition. Five different planes were investigated: three planes in phase with the propeller revolution (upstream and downstream the propeller, downstream the rudder), two nominal wake (propeller plane and downstream the bilge keel). Three component of the velocity were collected except the plane upstream the propeller (1 component) and other quantities have been evaluated (turbulence, vorticity).
