Documentation of package "chromo" for the automatic analysis and karyotyping of wheat chromosomes

The package CHROMO is mainly written in FORTRAN-G ( only few subroutines are written is Assembler 360). The translated code runs under the CMS operating system which in turns operates under CP/67 on the IBM 360/67 computer of CNUCE (12).In order to analyzed a chromosome spread digitized in a 1024*1024 grid, it is necessary a virtual machine with the following configuration: 1536 k bytes, ten cylinders of disk memory. The peripheric units used by the program are teletype and the magnetic tape 181 with density 800 and 9 tracks.
