This document is written in fulfilment of Deliverable D 4.3.13 of Work Package 4 The virtual cavitation laboratory of the EC-FP6 Project VIRTUE - The Virtual Tank Utility in Europe. The implementation of a hybrid viscous/inviscid model for the analysis of cavitating propellers in behind-hull conditions is addressed. The hybrid model is based on an inviscid propeller code by BEM coupled to a RANS code for the analysis of the viscous wake where the propeller operates. The propeller is not explicitely included in the RANS model and propeller effects are taken into account via a body-force approach. Theoretical and modelling details of both propeller code and RANS/BEM interface are given in VIRTUE Deliverable D4.3.12 and Deliverable D4.3.9. Here, the emphasis is on software description and on details of input/output structure of the RANS/BEM interface. The report addresses the particular case of code INSEAN-PFC used as propeller code, whereas an arbitrary ship viscous flow code by RANS is considered. Finally, the integration of code INSEAN-PFC including RANS/BEM interface into the VIRTUE software Integration Platform (VIP) is described. This activity represents a joint application between WP4 (Task 4.3.4) and WP5 Task 5.8.3. The present version of the report is version 1 (final). Throghout the document, reference is made to version 1.x of software including PFC code and related hybrid RANS/BEM interface.

Abstract
Throghout the document, reference is made to version 1.x of software including PFC code and related hybrid RANS/BEM interface.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
