This technical note describes the design, realization and testing of a prototype representing a portion of the Passive Stabilizing Shell (PSS) of RFX mod2, with the purpose of determining the optimal design for the system of 'saddle loops' magnetic sensors, which will be installed just on the external surface of the PSS itself. Magnetic saddle loops are an important diagnostic for measuring magnetic flux and averaged radial magnetic field of RFXmod2, and will cover the whole surface of the torus. The mechanical design, albeit it can seem simple, has to respect stringent geometrical and mounting constrains, along with voltage holding and vacuum compatibility properties, which required an ad hoc prototypical testing activity. In order to test different solutions for these diagnostics, a plane prototype representing a portion of RFXmod2 PSS was designed and assembled.

Abstract
In order to test different solutions for these diagnostics, a plane prototype representing a portion of RFXmod2 PSS was designed and assembled.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
