An ontology-based decision support system to support clinical personnel (pulmonologists) in tackling Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) through nutrition. The ontology was developed in close collaboration with clinicians from INRCA-IRCCS and dieticians from the University of Milan, with the aim of identifying the amounts and shares of macro-nutrients and other patient-specific recommendations (e.g.: BCAA protein supplements, fiber, etc.). The output is a patient-based daily recommendation that clinicians can adopt to shape the patient's diet.

Abstract
