The two years of analyses carried out allow us to state that the application of Zeowine to the soil results in an efficient ripening and therefore in the quality of the grapes produced, in the Brunello di Montalcino production area; as well as being a sustainable practice, allowing the recycling of the by-products of the production process, which would otherwise be delivered to the distillery or to the controlled disposal for alternative use according to the reference legislation. In the near future, lack of water will be a more and more evident problem and products which increase the efficiency of water use by plants, will certainly be favored. It can be affirmed that the effects of global warming put the vines in a state of stress during the ripening season. This is due to a low disposability of water and high temperatures that alter the normal process of the plants. Anyway, the study shows that this stress can be reduced with Zeowine soil improver. The zeolite skill to hold water and exchange nutrients, gave the vines the strength to improve their performance and carry out better production than the compost treatment. The features of zeolite combined with compost could be one of the best solutions to make a stand against drought problems. Therefore, it is in this scenario that the application of Zeowine in the vineyard to the soil can be a valid tool to mitigate the effects of climate change.
