The exponential growth of publications, in the last years, on the use of additivemanufacturing (AM) technologies in the microwave field proves the increasing interestof research institutions and industries in these techniques. Some advantages of AMwith respect to conventional machining are weight reduction, design flexibility, andintegration of different functionalities (electromagnetic, thermal, and structural) in asingle part. This chapter presents the most employed AM technologies for themanufacturing of RF waveguide components. First, an overview of the AM processesis discussed with particular care on material properties and post-processing. Then, anextensive survey on microwave-guided components fabricated by AM processespublished in literature is shown.
Il capitolo di libro riporta una sintesi sullo stato dell'arte dei componenti RF realizzati con diverse tecnologie di stampa 3D per plastica e metallo.
