On 25 September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly formally adopted the universal, integrated and transformative 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. According to this document, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs onwards) should be achieved within the year 2030 to boost a successful transition toward a sustainable society and a resource-efficient economy. The European Union has accepted the SDGs and has committed itself to implement them in its internal and external policies.By considering the targets established by the European Union policy for the year 2030, the EN-VET products has been defined according to those SDGs that are specifically aimed at improving the environmental sustainability in the Member States. Since SDGs were defined in order to achieve a sustainable development in three dimensions (economic, social and environmental) by balancing them through an integrated approach, the EN-VET project will be focused on eight SDGs that are the most representative of environmental aspects of the sustainability. They can be summarized as it follows:SDG 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture;SDG 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all;SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all;SDG 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable;SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns;SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts;SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development;SDG 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.Although the didactic programs will be mainly focused on the SDGs listed above, the other dimensions of sustainable development will be also taken into account in the EN-VET project, in order to be coherent with the 2030 Agenda. For this reason, a critical discussion on the impact that actions aimed at mitigating environmental problems can have on the economy and social aspects of the EU member states will also be included, by mentioning the specific SDGs to which they refer.By following this conceptual approach, the EN-VET partners agreed to produce documents that will report and discuss:- the way how the environmental issues related to the eight SDGs mentioned above affect their own countries, together with the points of strength and weakness that presently exist in the achievement of the goals foreseen for the year 2030;- the way how the economy of their countries is linked to environmental problems, and the strategies put in place by national enterprises in order to contribute at improving environmental sustainability;- the social impact that environmental sustainability has on their countries by influencing their national policies, scientific knowledge, education and public awareness.To harmonize the National Sustainability Reports produced in the project, the analysis has been strongly based on data collected at EU scale that were made available by European Certified Bodies, such as European Commission Directorate-General for Communication (ECAS), European Environment Agency (EEA) and Joint Research Center (JRC). This approach ensures that a common benchmark of knowledge is shared by all the partners of the project, which is regarded as a fundamental tool for the production of a reliable and robust Comparative Sustainability Report.
Il 25 settembre 2015, l'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite ha adottato formalmente l'Agenda universale, integrata e trasformativa per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile 2030. Secondo questo documento, 17 Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (Sustainable Development Goals, SDG da ora in avanti) dovrebbero essere raggiunti entro il 2030, per promuovere con successo la transizione verso una società sostenibile e un'economia efficiente nell'impiego delle risorse. L'Unione Europea ha recepito gli SDG e si è impegnata a implementarli nelle proprie politiche interne ed estere.Considerando i target stabiliti dalla politica dell'Unione Europea per l'anno 2030, i prodotti EN - VET sono stati definiti secondo quegli obiettivi tesi specificatamente al miglioramento della sostenibilità ambientale negli Stati membri. Poiché gli Obiettivi sono stati definiti al fine di raggiungere uno sviluppo sostenibile in tre dimensioni (economica, sociale e ambientale) bilanciandole attraverso un approccio integrato, il progetto EN-VET si concentrerà su otto SDG che sono quelli più rappresentativi degli aspetti ambientali della sostenibilità.Essi possono essere riassunti come segue:SDG 2: Diminuire la fame, raggiungere la sicurezza alimentare e migliorare la nutrizione, e promuovere l'agricoltura sostenibile;SDG 6: Assicurare a tutti la disponibilità e la gestione sostenibile di acqua e dell'igiene;SDG 7: Assicurare l'accesso per tutti ad un' energia moderna, economica, affidabile e sostenibile;SDG 11: Rendere le città e gli insediamenti umani inclusivi, sicuri, resilienti e sostenibili;SDG 12 : Fornire modelli di produzione e consumo sostenibili;SDG 13: Intraprendere azioni urgenti per combattere i cambiamenti climatici e i loro impatti;SDG 14: Preservare e usare in maniera sostenibile le risorse marine, gli oceani e i mari, per lo sviluppo sostenibile;SDG 15: Proteggere, ripristinare e promuovere l'uso sostenibile dell'ecosistema terrestre, gestire le foreste consapevolmente, combattere la desertificazione, fermare e invertire la degradazione della terra e arrestare la perdita della biodiversità.Sebbene i programmi didattici saranno principalmente focalizzati sugli obiettivi elencati sopra, le altre dimensioni dello sviluppo sostenibile saranno tenute in conto nel progetto EN-VET, per essere coerenti con l'Agenda 2030. Per questa ragione, verrà inclusa anche una discussione critica sull'impatto che le azioni mirate a mitigare i problemi ambientali possono avere sugli aspetti economici e sociali degli stati membri dell'UE, menzionando gli obiettivi specifici ai quali si riferiscono.Seguendo questo approccio concettuale, i partner EN-VET hanno deciso di fornire documenti che tratteranno:Il modo in cui le questioni ambientali relative agli otto Obiettivi sopra menzionati interessano i loro paesi, insieme ai punti di forza e di debolezza che esistono nel raggiungimento degli obiettivi previsti per l'anno 2030.Il modo in cui l'economia dei loro paesi è legata ai problemi ambientali, e le strategie messe in atto per contribuire a migliorare la sostenibilità ambientale dalle imprese nazionali;L'impatto sociale che la sostenibilità ambientale ha sui loro paesi, influenzando le politiche nazionali, il sapere scientifico, l'istruzione e la consapevolezza pubblica.Per armonizzare i Report sulla Sostenibilità Nazionale prodotti nel progetto, l'analisi si è basata su dati raccolti su una scala UE, resi disponibili da Enti Europei Certificati, come La Direzione Generale per le Comunicazioni della Commissione Europea, l' Agenzia per Ambiente Europea e il Centro di Ricerca Congiunto. Questo approccio assicura che un riferimento comune sia condiviso da tutti i partner del progetto, e questo è considerato uno strumento fondamentale per la produzione di un Report sulla Sostenibilità Comparativo affidabile ed equilibrato .

Abstract
