Deliverable 6.3 reports on the education and training activities, including data on users participation and involvement. In D6.1 we had proposed our structured Education and Training plan, aimed at bridging the skills gap between HPC development and computational materials science. This plan is being effectively implemented through different actions, which in the first 18 months include: a. Eight training initiatives --schools, tutorials, workshops-- directly designed, organized and co-funded by MaX (sometimes in cooperation with others). The emphasis was on hands-on-activities based on MaX flagship codes and frontier HPC developments, and on the involvement of young participants. The overall assessment of these initiatives by the participants (approx 400 in total) was extremely positive. b. A few lectures / modules offered by MaX within schools organized by other institutions. c. Major contributions to innovative education pilots within three University MSci courses, plus one MOOC course under development. These initiatives have resulted in the production of valuable training material, that have been handed out to students in preliminary form and will be made available to the broader community in the next months, once refined.

Abstract
These initiatives have resulted in the production of valuable training material, that have been handed out to students in preliminary form and will be made available to the broader community in the next months, once refined.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
