The AGEING PROJECT PI.P02 is a Strategic Project of DSB-CNR granted by the MIUR. The project has driven the CNR scientific community towards several aspects of the pathological ageing and future perspectives of improving the quality of the life in the elderly. In the project, the Neuroscience Unit of IRIB (exIBIM) has focused on the major causes of visual disability in ageing, such as the age-related retinal neurodegenerative diseases, setting up studies to contrast or prevent the progression of diseases. Results obtained by the project have laid the foundation for an advanced investigation in a new FIRS-MUR project proposal of DSB-CNR.
