As Fusion Expo Project Leader from 2003 to 2009, under Contract FU06 CT 2003-00141 (EFDA/03-1056)contract , I was entrusted with the organization and running of the exhibitions, with the responsibility of its upgrade, refurbishment and full improvements, which led to the realization of two fusion expo layouts: maxi and mini expo to fit different contests.

The Fusion Expo is a traveling exhibition designed to be accessible to non-scientists. In a clear and simple way, it explains the fundamentals of fusion, describes Europe's fusion research facilities, introduces the ITER Project, and looks ahead to the construction of a working fusion power plant. Fusion is presented as an environmentally acceptable, safe and sustainable energy technology. The exhibition is financed by EFDA and the European Commission with a tight schedule of annual exhibitions around Europe. The mini expo in Lecce (in the English version) took place in 2009 and was included in the first edition of the "Energia spiegata - Festival dell'energia" event (for more information on results see: http://www.festivaldellenergia.it). Visitors: more than 10.000 visitors participated in the festival activities; entrance to the expo was open to all of them; we have no precise estimation of the presence at the expo. Discussions on fusion energy perspective were introduced within the more general energy related topics, thus reaching an audience that previously was not familiar with fusion.
