The work herein described is the first interim report of the 2° year of activity in the frame of the contract No. W911NF1920253 between the US ARMY ACC-APC-RTP W911NF and the National Research Council of Italy, Institute of Science and Technology of Ceramics (CNR-ISTEC). The contract was initiated on August 2019 with Dr. Amanda Napier as contract monitor, Dr. Laura Silvestroni as Principal Investigator and Dr. Diletta Sciti as Co-Principal Investigator. Materials design, production, microstructure and mechanical characterization have been carried out at CNR-ISTEC in Faenza (Italy), analytical model of layered composites has been developed at CNR-ISMAR in Ancona (Italy), and mathematical model has been implement-ed at the Politecnico di Milano.
