This report describes the results of an experimental research activity on hydrokinetic turbines for the exploitation of tidal energy. Field test experiments were performed by deploying a large scale model turbine in highly energetic environment and a sheltered tidal site (benign field site environment) of Strangford Narrows, Northern Ireland. The experimental testing was accomplished in collaboration with Marine Research Group of Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K.

Abstract
