In this presentation, we provide an overview of integrating federated learning into 6G communications. We discuss the requirements of 6G communication and core challenges of federated learning for 6G applications, i.e. the need for communication-efficient federated learning, secure federated learning, and effective federated learning. We finally sketch some trade-offs adopted and open research topics.
