The core objective of the PLASTIC project is to enable the development and deployment of cost-effective application services, both in terms of development and usage costs, regarding both financial and resource usage aspects, for B3G networks. Service development platforms for B3G networks will be effective and successful only if the services they deliver are adaptive and offer quality of service guarantees to users despite the uncontrolled open wireless environment, which will be a key focus of the PLASTIC project. Furthermore, PLASTIC will make easy the development and deployment of services for next-generation networks for a large community of software developers, and in particular SMEs and users.
