SARAGRI dealt with the use of multi-frequency SAR data for the mapping and monitoring of the spatial and temporal variability of land surface parameters and agricultural practices. In particular, the focus was on the retrieval of surface soil moisture (SSM) and vegetation water content (VWC) and on the classification and monitoring of irrigation extent and tillage practices at high resolution. The activities encompassed i) the collection and management of EO and ground data, ii) the consolidation of a suite of retrieval and classification algorithms initially developed in previous projects, iii) their validation using in situ data collected in SARAGRI and in previous projects, and finally iiii) the development of a WEBGIS interface to handle online the wealth of products delivered in the project. The ambition has been to advance Earth Observation (EO) products supporting the efficient use of water and soil resources which is an urgent and imperative challenge for sustainable development.

Abstract
The ambition has been to advance Earth Observation (EO) products supporting the efficient use of water and soil resources which is an urgent and imperative challenge for sustainable development.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
