This report provides a brief overview about the interfacing mechanism implemented to enable the exploitation of the optimal orchestration SDK toolbox implemented in WP5 with a distributed control application developed in IEC-61499. In particular, this document reports about the general approach identified to integrate custom code in the IEC-61499 software runtime tool provided in DAEDALUS by nxtControl and makes reference to the details already presented in previous deliverables. Considering the evolution of the developments occurred within the activities of WP5, the integration of an MPC control algorithm in an IEC-61499 application has been finally implemented leveraging an interfacing mechanisms based on custom protocol that builds on the TCP/IP technology. This document reports the details of the protocol developed. A custom composite function block has been developed to enable an easy and effective integration of advanced MPC control algorithms in a distributed control application, leveraging the DAEDALUS' MPC toolbox. The details about the function block are therefore presented in the following section.
