The EAPO is an optimal control software which can be customized for power-intensive process such as steelmaking and metal casting. The software is composed of two modules: 1: A day-ahead process optimization module, which receive production recipe and operational constraints together with energy price from BRP and produces daylong production setpoint that minimizes the cost of energy consumption. 2: A real-time module based on MPC (Model Predictive Control) approach, whose goal is to modify the day-ahead optimization in the presence of process variations and demand changes such that the committed load is followed as closely as possible.
