This paper describes the creation and implementation of two creative workshops in order to test new, complementary and involving evaluation methods while teaching Italian L2 within courses aimed at training and getting young people into work. The team tested the structure, principles and tools of the workshops. Subsequently, the team verified their actual effectiveness with respect to the need to support and possibly enhance the evaluative performance of Italian L2 learning. This was done within the training courses administered by Fondazione Piazza dei Mestieri in the framework of the project "Diamo vita alle parole: percorsi di sperimentazione linguistica per l'alfabetizzazione e l'inclusione", specifically within the ABil.Ita programme, which was aimed at language education actions based on the methodology of "learning by doing" and "problem setting". The target population included foreign young people (15-19), third-country nationals.
