Abstract

The configuration tool is a WS Excel application that offers to the user an interface to define the structure of the combined heat and power plant. It is composed by several worksheets where define the configuration of the plant under examination, the details and properties of the components, the operational costs and the selling prices. Excel Macros and VBA Script guide the user in the configuration and optimization of the plant. The UC tool is developed in C++ and formulates dynamically the optimization problem based on the configurations given by the user in the Excel application. The results of the MILP optimization are reported graphically in the Excel
