D5.2 "Principles on Data Structuration and Interfacing with EOSC" is a key component within Work Package 5 (WP5) of the IPERION-HS project. WP5 is dedicated to developing innovative methods and tools for managing and analysing complex data from heritage science and humanities. The deliverable directly addresses the challenge of integrating heterogeneous data sources related to these domains. This data is essential for research, conservation, and scientific analysis in disciplines such as history, art history, archaeology and philology. To achieve this integration, the project has fostered close collaboration with data providers platforms, enabling better access to diverse digital assets (knowledge bases, datasets, procedures) and facilitating the development of innovative strategies to foster interoperability. D5.2 has focused on enhancing the description of data related to artifacts, not only through conventional metadata but also by capturing the entire scientific workflow from raw data to interpretation. As data is increasingly important for scientific discoveries, simple rules (SQARED principles) were created within the scope of this project to help researchers better organize their data. Well organized data is crucial for scientific discoveries to remain useful in the long term and can be shared and better understood by other scientists. WP5 members followed an experimental approach with the aim of facilitating the development of data management strategies based on the concept of overlapping "regions of interest" and creating bridges between different disciplines and data production contexts. The result of this theoretical effort will be the development of mechanisms for integrating data, annotations, vocabulary terms, and other relevant attributes linked to these resources as part of D5.6 Prototype studies on Data structuration and interfacing with EOSC, also building on past and ongoing initiatives such as ARIADNE, IPERION CH, PARTHENOS, SSHOC, and ARIADNE+ and aligning with relevant international standards and organizations like EOSC, RDA, and DARIAH ERIC.

Abstract
The result of this theoretical effort will be the development of mechanisms for integrating data, annotations, vocabulary terms, and other relevant attributes linked to these resources as part of D5.6 Prototype studies on Data structuration and interfacing with EOSC, also building on past and ongoing initiatives such as ARIADNE, IPERION CH, PARTHENOS, SSHOC, and ARIADNE+ and aligning with relevant international standards and organizations like EOSC, RDA, and DARIAH ERIC.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
