The European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder's "Mid to Long Term and Systems Integrated Energy Storage" portfolio focuses on developing breakthrough solutions for energy storage to enhance system flexibility, sector coupling, demand response, and smart interoperability. These technologies aim to facilitate the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources, improve energy efficiency through methods like waste heat recovery, and contribute to a secure, affordable, and sustainable energy transition. This is the first draft of the strategic plan for this portfolio outlining objectives and activities across various levels, including technology development, transition to innovation, communication, dissemination, and ethical considerations. It also addresses regulatory frameworks, market analysis, intellectual property management, and training activities beneficial to all portfolio projects. The plan is a collaborative effort among individual projects, guided by EIC Programme Managers and Portfolio Steering Committees.
