This volume offers an index of names recorded in the Minaic (Ancient South Arabian) inscriptions spanning from the 6th to the 1st century BCE. It follows the onomastic index of the inscriptions from the Jawf region dating back to the 8th–6th centuries BCE (Arabia Antica III/3), thereby presenting an updated, comprehensive collection of the names attested in the whole corpus of Minaic formal inscriptions. This index includes around 1,300 proper names—spanning kings, individuals, social groups, deities, places, and months —along with their epigraphic occurrences. This onomastic collection serves as a resource for both linguistic reflection and historical reconstruction, referring to a crucial period in South Arabian history and its external relations. It covers the expansion of the kingdom of Maʿīn over most of the cities of the Jawf region and its pivotal role in the incense trade with the Mediterranean and Mesopotamia. An introductory overview outlines the historical background, textual foundations and main features of this onomastic corpus, while a glossary of key political, social and religious figures provides further historical context for the onomastics.
