D.3.5.1 A report on each of the Pilot areas related to vulnerability, hazards and impacts

The aim of the Deliverable is to provide a detailed description of the expected vulnerability, hazards and impacts in the Adriatic region and specifically in the project pilot areas. This deliverable, therefore, includes contributions from different activities of WP5 related to the investigated pilot sites. The analysis of the indicators selected during the first phase of Activity 3.5 calculated by all the project partners mainly focusing on each pilot area, has been combined with the available information on the geographic, geomorphological and sedimentological characteristics of the Italian and Croatian coastal stretches of the Adriatic basin and on their climate, industry, urbanisation and socio-economic profile to characterise the ongoing processes in a climate change scenario. Expected effects of climate change (CC) have been defined using data derived from both previous studies and the present project, and projections of future impacts on the coasts have been carried out in light of the changing conditions. This deliverable is supported by fact sheets (annexes 1 to 8) reporting for each of the project pilot areas the main geomorphological and climate characteristics as well as the CC-related vulnerability, hazards and impacts.
