Relazione STIIMA - Analisi del Ciclo di Vita di 7 famiglie di prodotti

The following report provides a gate-to-gate LCA study for seven families of steel-working products by Trafilspec ITS SpA company. STIIMA-CNR was asked to prepare a full LCA study of seven different products, analyzing their environmental impacts according to the ISO 14040/44 standards. This report presents the results obtained during the modelling of the TRAFILSPEC ITS SPA processes. To this end, a screening LCA of the principal process steps was carried out. The main aim of this analysis was to obtain a deeper understanding of the environmental impacts of the TRAFILSPEC ITS SPA technology in the production of: 1. Heat Treated Cold Drawn Wire; 2. Heat Treated Cold Drawn Wire Multistep process; 3. Heat Treated Cold Drawn Bars Multistep process; 4. Heat Treated Cold Drawn Bars; 5. Cold Drawn Bars; 6. Heat Treated Cold Drawn Grinded Bars; 7. Cold Drawn Peeled Rolled Straightened Bars The LCA study includes energy consumptions, ancillary materials as well as other flows involved in TRAFILSPEC ITS SPA production processes. The system boundaries and declared units will be defined in accordance with ISO 14040/44 standards. The results of this study are going to provide internal information for environmental profiles and hot-spot identification assessed by plant data.
