The QGIS plugin "Hydrological Analysis Stream Network" implements a hydrological analysis algorithm that generates the drainage network from a digital terrain model (DTM). The main functionalities include the production of a vector hydrographic network (both raw and smoothed versions), determination of drainage directions, calculation of the topographic index ln(a/tan(b)), and the delineation of "half basins" catchment units derived from the DTM and the extracted network. The workflow geoprocessing consists of four steps: filling topographic depressions (Fill sinks, using the Wang & Liu algorithm), computation of flow accumulation and drainage network delineation, raster to vector conversion, and subsequent smoothing of river centreline geometry. The plugin provides a structured and repeatable procedure within the QGIS environment for generating the drainage network and related derived products from a DTM.
