Abstract

Deliverable D1.4, Summary of the webinars exchanging best practices with existing RI networks, presents an exploratory, policy-relevant assessment of national and transnational external access (TA/VA/EA) to energy Research Infrastructures (RIs) within the RISEnergy consortium, with a specific focus on governance models, operational practices, and sustainability conditions of access scheme, in line with current European research and innovation policy priorities. The deliverable contributes to Work Package 1, Task 1.2, supporting the development of a coherent and effective European ecosystem allowing access to renewable energy RIs, in line with current European research and innovation policy priorities. The analysis is based on two complementary sources: a structured questionnaire addressed to RI Contact Points (CPs) and targeted webinars with experienced CPs. Data were collected from 30 RIs, representing a geographically diverse group of European countries actively involved in EU research and innovation programmes, covering a broad range of technological domains and maturity levels. Although the limited sample size constrains statistical generalisation, it provides a solid qualitative basis for identifying common practices, challenges, and enabling factors 1 , relevant for policy learning and strategic reflection.
