For the first fourth-month period (I°SAL) both the two Research Units, the National Research Council located in Palermo (Coordinator, CNR-IFT_PA, PI Pinsino Annalisa) and the University of Messina (Unit manager, UNIME, Giannetto Alessia Caterina), are involved in Milestone 1 (State-of-the-art, preliminary experiments plan and results: from the first bimester to fourth bimester) of the project with the following workflow: 1. defining the problem, setting up and validating the biological approach and method to isolate Pl- and Hi-EVs. Task 1- CNR-IFT_PA. Isolation of Pl-EV released in the CF under physiological and challenging conditions in vivo and in vitro Task 2- CNR and UNIME. Isolation of Hi-EVs released in hemolymph under physiological and challenging conditions in vivo Deliverable 1.1 Report on concepts and objectives for the use of EV from other species in medicine. Deliverable 1.2 Report on method performances. Methods for EV isolation will be designed and validated.
