The first chapter of the present document offers an overview of the experimental activity carried out in the first 6 months of the project, with a description of the apparatus and the techniques, along with a list of the different tests. The second chapter reports and discusses the results obtained within the experimental campaign on the Tobacco ignition (Deliverable A):  Cast-leaf Tobacco ignition temperature for heating rates representative to those in HTPs after the pre-heating (Month 6) The third chapter discusses the results obtained within the experimental campaign on the signs that differentiate combustion and thermochemical degradation (Deliverable B).  Unambiguous signs differentiating combustion from other thermochemical degradation processes based on emissions (Month 6 if TG-MS tests with marked O2 are successful (B1) otherwise at Month 9 (B2).
