The present report represents the deliverable D6.2 “Optimized adsorption chiller design and containerized solution for industrial integration including innovative components and controllers” of the RE-WITCH project. It focuses on the design of a novel type of modular adsorption chillers for industrial applications developed by SOR and a containerized solution for heat recovery of air-compressors. After the general introduction in Chapter 2, the innovative adsorption chiller design is described in Chapter 3 and its advantages and challenges compared to the state of the art are discussed. In Chapter 4 the design of the technology through numerical modelling based on DYMOLA/Modelica models of the main components is described and the control mechanisms are developed and tested by simulations. Chapter 5 presents the detailed design of the real-size modular adsorption chiller units, which will be installed in the demo projects. The basic components of the adsorption chiller are described in detail and 3D-drawings, a P&ID as well as a list of material are provided. Furthermore, a few pictures of the first basic unit manufactured in the workshop of SOR are added for a better understanding of the design. In Chapter 6 the next step of a containerized solution of the adsorption chiller with an air-compressor is discussed in detail. In demo 4, there are already air-compressors installed, which means that a containerized solution can’t be integrated. For this reason, SOR has developed two designs, which show the maximum cooling capacity to be achieved with oil-injected KAESER compressors for a 20ft and a 40ft standard sea container. Like in chapter 5, 3D-drawings, a P&ID as well as a list of material are provided.

Abstract
Like in chapter 5, 3D-drawings, a P&ID as well as a list of material are provided.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
